Okay, we'll admit it: We have a major obsession with makeup transformation videos. There's something incredibly alluring about watching professional, and even amateur, makeup artists use a few palettes and brushes to completely transform themselves.However, it isn't just the fact that these videos are entertaining that has us hooked. Watching these women and men share their skill and artistry (and plenty of tricks!) makes us love the art of makeup even more. Sure, you may never recreate the exact look, but there's something in it for everyone — whether you're looking for inspiration or education.
Ahead, we've rounded up some of our favorite transformations so you, too, can appreciate all of that magic.
Did the thumbnail of this video make you do a double-take? Because we sure as hell did. Promise Phan (Dope2111 on YouTube) is famous for her skillful makeup transformations, whether into animated characters or celebrities like Bruno Mars and Jennifer Lawrence. This one, however, which the YouTuber calls "trippy double vision," is the most shocking.

First things first: Please forgive how awkward the sponge rubbing in this video is, because seeing Dermablend products in action literally makes us gasp. The brand, which creates high-coverage, yet nearly undetectable, foundations, worked its magic on this tattoo-covered man. We won't give too much away, but we will say it's incredible watching what the right product can do.
Kandee Johnson is another incredibly skilled makeup artist on YouTube. In this video, she takes a good look at Barbie and recreates the doll's look on her own face. We think the results are pretty uncanny, actually.
Sure, spider lashes may not be your thing, but in this video, Lauren Curtis shows the world how much work (and time) it takes to get a voluminous set. Warning: You may want to give the trend a go after watching this video.
And finally, NikkieTutorials' viral video on the power of makeup. In it, the makeup artist leaves half of her face bare while going full glam on the other. The goal? To show her viewers that makeup is all about self-expression. To quote Nikkie herself, "I want people to know that makeup is fun and there are no rules...[it's] there for days when you wanna look hella good!" Amen, Nikkie. Amen.
