Last week, The New York Post published an article containing accounts from several former contestants on The Biggest Loserreceiving weight-loss drugs on set.

One contestant, Suzanne Mendonca, said people ended up in the hospital as a result. “People would take amphetamines, water pills, diuretics, and throw up in the bathroom,” she said.

The show's doctor Rob Huizenga told The Post that there were no drugs allowed on the set. "Contestants are told at the start of the show that there is zero tolerance for any weight-loss drugs. We prohibit the use of any illegal substances," he claimed.

But this hasn't stopped law enforcement from looking into it. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told Deadline that Malibu/Lost Hills police are currently investigating claims of illegal narcotics use on the show.

A recent study found that Biggest Loser contestants regain most of their weight after the show. In addition to suffering from harmful effects from dieting, it's possible they were unable to keep up with the extreme methods they were using.
